Community Camp Out at Arroyo Trails!

Hey, adventurer! Ever thought about camping but worried if the kiddos will dig it? Join us at Arroyo Trails for our Community Campout and scamper into the wild blue yonder! Bring your own cozy tent or just grab a spot to bask in the starry skies. We’ll be lighting up the night with a crackling campfire, spinning tales that’ll make your hair stand up, and some good ol’ fashioned games until the sun goes down. Add your own personal flare to the tales, and if you’re feeling extra musical, bring along an instrument to add to the entertainment! We’d love to have you join in on the fun. Stay the whole night or sneak out like a ninja if someone’s not feeling it. Pssst…Don’t forget to register! Let’s make some memories under the big sky! Registration is per family.

Independence Day Celebration

It’s time to break free and cheer for Independence Day with the Channahon Park District Staff at Ronald D. Lehman Community Park! We’ve got a whole line-up of grub gurus and a heap of good times in store. And wait for it…we’re lighting up the sky with fireworks! Let’s make this a Fourth of July to remember!

“You’re Welcome” to movie night at the pool! Grab your favorite floatie (not too big to affect the lifeguards view) and your best sing along voice and head to the pool! Let’s see “How Far You’ll Go” to have fun watching Moana on the big screen. Plenty of popcorn and snacks will be ready at the concession stand. The sprayground will be closed once the movie begins. Please leave all pet chickens at home.

Hold onto your seats, because this is no ordinary family event, and best of all, it’s totally FREE! Get ready to ogle over a crazy array of mega vehicles, from towering excavators to classic school buses, powerful tow trucks, and even emergency vehicles. But wait, there’s more: You can climb into the driver’s seat and experience these behemoths up close and personal! We will have a gentle, horn-free period from 9:30-10:30 am. Get your engines revving and don’t miss out on this epic day of fun!

Who says we can’t have Christmas twice in a year? Let’s kick off the festive season again with a bang! Pack your picnic basket with some sweet treats like candy, candy canes, candy corn and syrup, and head over to the Community Park with your fam! The Channahon Park District team has got some fun games and crafts up their sleeves to keep you entertained before the movie starts. And what’s a Christmas-in-July movie night without watching the hilarious Buddy in ELF! So, get ready to spread cheer and laughter, and become Buddy’s honorary elf! Alright, folks, it’s showtime! The big-screen magic kicks off at dusk (that’s about 8:15 PM).
Barbie Movie in the Park

Get your dreamy pink outfits ready because we’re ending the summer with a bang! We’re talking about the one and only Barbie movie, folks! Bring your Barbie, Ken or any other fab dolls to the park, and let’s make it a Barbie bonanza!
Best of all, the movie is free, so come one, come all!
But wait, there’s more! We’re also doling out Surprise Barbies, and you really don’t want to miss that. So, be sure to register before July 26th to claim your Barbie. The main event starts at sundown (about 8:15 PM), so don’t be late, or you might miss Barbie’s latest adventures. See you there, gorgeous!

Hey, moms and dads! Got a kiddo who’s always on the move? Gather the whole family for a rainbow-colored run to the finish line! Register by July 19 to snag your size and a pair of cool shades. And guess what? The excitement doesn’t end there! We’re throwing a party at the Three Rivers Festival’s Family Entertainment Stage! Picture this: foam cannons, glow sticks, and top-notch entertainment. It’s going to be epic! Don’t miss out on this chance to make memories with your little speedster.
Have family and friends who don’t want to run, but want to participate? Have them email Debora at dkennedy@channahonpark.org to volunteer to spray and squirt color along the racecourse.
